Privacy policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026
The short version
- We don’t sell personal information or use advertising trackers. We use Cloudflare to run the site and Google to receive email.
- Our visit statistics show totals such as page views, without using cookies.
- If you email us, we use your message only to answer it.
Who runs this site
yzstein.com is the website of the Y.Z. Stein puzzle books. Y.Z. Stein is the author’s pen name. If you have a question about this policy or about your information, write to contact@yzstein.com.
What we collect
You can browse without creating an account or filling out a form. We use aggregate visit statistics, and our hosting provider processes technical information to deliver and protect the site. Beyond that, we only learn about you if you choose to email us.
Emails you send us
When you write to us, we receive your email address, the message, and anything you include in it, such as your name. We use them to answer you and to follow up on what you asked, and for nothing else. We delete our correspondence two years after our last exchange, or sooner if you ask.
Visit statistics
To learn which pages are useful and how people find the site, we keep visit statistics that use no cookies. They show totals, such as page views and the websites visitors came from, and don’t identify anyone.
Cookies
We don’t set cookies of our own, and our visit statistics use none. Cloudflare may set security cookies to protect the site. If you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon’s own cookies and privacy notice apply there.
Services that help run the site
Cloudflare hosts the site, provides the visit statistics and forwards emails sent to our contact address. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, it processes technical information such as your IP address and browser type, and may keep security logs for a limited time under its own policies. Forwarded emails arrive in a Gmail mailbox provided by Google, where our correspondence is kept. Both act on our behalf and may store information in the United States.
Children
Our books are for children aged 8 to 12, but this site is for the adults who choose books for them. It doesn’t ask anyone for personal information, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has emailed us, let us know and we’ll delete the message. Our contact address is for adults.
Your rights
You can ask what information we hold about you (in practice, any emails you’ve sent us), and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to contact@yzstein.com and we’ll answer within one month. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If anything changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
